This stunning, 9 month old, pure bred, friendly German Shepherd girl will make a person or family very happy. She is based in Auckland, New Zealand.

Katie has the most gentle and sweet personality. She is smart and wants to please. Please help us find her a loving, playful home where she can put her trust.

When Katie was brought in to the clinic that I was working at, I was not told any details of her past. Katie had spent two days with a temporary home, and she had ‘been chasing stock’. This is all I know, except that she ‘is a good girl, and came from a home with children.’

In the week that I have had her, I have been blown away by her beautiful nature. It has been only 7 days, and I feel very responsible for her. Her patience, her calm, and her desire to please breaks my heart. She is only a puppy, but seems like a wise old girl already. She seems afraid to step out of line or to make her own choices. I want to see her go to a home where she can feel comfortable enough to be a cheeky, playful and goofy pup!

In the week that she has been in my care, Katie has demonstrated that she:

• Is so very quiet and sleeps in a separate room in the house. She is alone, but has not barked or howled

• Walks on the leash like a dream! I walk her on a long line, but she stays close and never pulls.

• Walks quietly past barking, challenging dogs who charge the fences, and she listens to my commands

• Walks on leash past my chihuahuas and cats, and shows no challenge

• Is interested in ducks, but quietly walks past and obeys my commands

• Sits and comes on command (not let off leash yet)

• Rolls over for tummy tickles regularly

• Lets me remove something from her mouth when she picks it up on a walk

• Lets me administer ear drops and examine her sore feet

• Wants to please, to lean on me, and to cuddle.

Katie’s adoption fee is $700 which will help cover some of the costs of her flea, worm, medical treatment and vaccines, and it will pre pay for her spey surgery. She is currently being fed Eukanuba and is microchipped.

Katie will be fully vaccinated when she goes to her new home, flea treated, wormed and vet checked. She is currently undergoing medical treatment for a skin and ear infection and may not be ready immediately. She will only be rehomed on the condition that she will be speyed (she is currently in season so this cant be done yet.)
