— Vet Nurse Services Culture

Based in Auckland, New Zealand, our vet nurses are fully qualified, with many years of experience.

Operating in Auckland since 2015, Vet Nurse Services has helped businesses and pet owners at home, work or play; offering MOBILE, MINDING, WALKING and HOMESTAY services for pet owners, and a LOCUM service for veterinary clinics requiring nursing staff.

Veterinary Nurse Services has seen vet nurses come and go, but is primarily run by me! Owner/operator - Bronwen Howells. I am always looking out for vet nurses to join me, so stay tuned!

I have a passion for making pet care accessible and stress-free, by assisting with health care, exercise, and holidays.

Qualified in many aspects of animal husbandry and behaviour, I wish to help in any way I can.

About Me

Bronwen Howells, Dip VN

I emigrated from the UK with my family as a child. My mother had been a veterinary nurse, and her passion for rescuing and caring for animals paved the way for my love. In New Zealand, I was raised on a lifestyle farm, where my passion for animals grew strong, as did my experience with many different species.

I qualified as a vet nurse in Christchurch in 2000 and worked in many veterinary clinics over the years. I also enjoyed working as a keeper and a guide for the Southern Encounter Aquarium, and Willowbank Wildlife Park. My final position in Christchurch was as a vet nurse and practice manager for At The Vets.
I moved to Auckland in 2013 and worked as head nurse for Royal Oak Vet Care before beginning Vet Nurse Services in 2015.

I am greatly interested in animal behaviour and continued my studies in this area. I also have a passion for animal rescue and rehab, which regularly has me tending to recuperating hedgehogs, wild birds, or orphaned puppies and kittens.

My house is quite literally overflowing with rescues (some temporary, and some foster fails). I couldn’t live without my, furry and feathered family at home.
