Vet nurse care that comes to your home

A mobile vet nurse assists you with your pet's health care at home.
I can also liaise with your veterinarian and provide regular testing or monitoring of many conditions in your home, while your pet is rested and stress-free.

Blood Pressure Monitoring

I use a non-invasive oscillometric blood pressure monitor to read your pet’s blood pressure.

When monitoring an animal’s blood pressure, readings must be taken in a stress-free situation to avoid inaccurate readings higher than normal. This is also very important when your vet is monitoring their medication dose.

I will record your pet’s blood pressure in your home environment, wherever your pet is most comfortable! On the floor, bed, couch or crate, I will assist you wherever necessary. Learn more

Subcutaneous Fluid Therapy

Subcutaneous fluid therapy (SQ fluids or Subcut fluids) may be recommended by your veterinarian if your pet is diagnosed with renal disease, (CKD, kidney disease, kidney failure). Constipation issues, geriatric or palliative care and other illnesses may also require subcutaneous fluid therapy.

I will liaise with your veterinarian regarding the type of fluid, amount and regularity of treatment. I will treat your animal in the comfort of your home, and in their favourite spot.

Blood Glucose testing

Blood glucose tests can be performed in the home with a quick and easy blood test to measure your pet’s blood glucose levels.

Important for diabetic pets and insulin dosing. This test is generally performed in conjunction with a veterinarian’s treatment.

Bladder Expression

If your cat is unable to go to the toilet on their own, it will quickly become a serious - and very life-threatening - situation. These pets must be seen by a veterinarian immediately.

In some cases, once treated by a veterinarian, these pets need continued care at home for a short period or ongoing.

As a mobile veterinary nurse service, I often support cats (and their owners) who need ongoing bladder care at home. It can feel overwhelming at first, but with the right support, many cats go on to live comfortable, happy lives.

Microchipping

Please microchip your pets!

A quick and easy procedure to implant a tiny microchip can help prevent you from losing your pet. I will do this at your home, and have them registered with the online database in minutes.

New Pet / Puppy / Kitten health checks and behaviour advice

Introducing a new pet to your family, or adopting a new baby, can be so exciting, but also a little daunting!

As a mobile veterinary nurse, I can guide you with health care, nutrition, behaviour, training and enrichment advice.

Cat Grooming, Claw Clipping and Ears Cleaned

I will groom, clip, and clean your pet from head to toe! No specialised clipping, please! I am not trained in the art of beautification, but vet nurses are well-trained and experienced in the art of de-matting, de-knotting, de-dagging, brushing, trimming, plucking and bathing!

I come to you with patience and plenty of treats to make the experience as joyful for your pet as it is for me!

Medicating

Administering tablets, liquids, injections, topical treatments, and eye or ear medications can be quite a challenge for pet owners with feisty or cunning pets.

I am extremely confident and experienced in medicating and have many tricks up my sleeve for when the time calls for them.

Pet Taxi and Transportation

I am able to provide personalised pet transport services to taxi your pet between locations.

Some of these may be veterinary and specialist appointments, between houses or businesses, to daycare or boarding kennels, and to the airport.

Bandaging and wound care

All wounds must be diagnosed and treated by your veterinarian first!

As a mobile vet nurse, I am able to assist your veterinarian if re-bandaging or follow up wound care is necessary on long-term treatments and patients.

Anal glands

Dogs and cats have anal glands—small scent sacs near the anus that usually empty naturally during bowel movements.

Sometimes they don’t empty properly, leading to discomfort, scooting, licking, or a strong odour. If untreated, they can become impacted or infected.

Manual expression should be done by a veterinary professional, as incorrect technique will cause pain or injury.

Parasite checks, flea and worming treatments at home

Regular parasite checks, along with flea and worming treatments, are essential for maintaining your pet’s health and well-being. Parasites like fleas, ticks, and internal worms can cause a range of health issues, from mild irritation to serious conditions that affect your pet’s organs and overall vitality.

Senior Pets and Palliative Care

Senior pets often require a huge amount of care at home, and this can at times be overwhelming. They may need regular checks, tests, vet visits, fluid therapy, blood pressure checking and medicating. They also have very specific nutritional and behavioural needs, which may change as they age further.

I can help support you during this time or visit to assist if you are unable to.

Euthanasia Support

Euthanasia is one of the hardest things you must face as an owner, and this may be a time when you feel alone or unable to reach out to friends who haven’t experienced the grief you are feeling. I can provide compassionate support and open discussion to help you prepare for your pet's end of days.

I will help you prepare for the when, where and how to say goodbye. Strategies can be discussed to help you process your grief. I can recommend home euthanasia veterinarians and can discuss the options that are available to help you say goodbye to your best friend, with the love and respect they deserve.
